Beginner Buttercream Cake Decorating Workshop
This beginner buttercream cake decorating class in Ringwood North is designed for people who already love baking but feel like the decorating part lets them down.
If you’ve ever made a cake that tasted great but didn’t quite look how you imagined, this workshop will help you change that.
In this 3-hour hands-on class, you’ll learn how to fill, stack, crumb coat, and decorate your own buttercream cake using simple techniques designed for real home bakers — not perfect studio conditions.
You’ll leave with a decorated 6-inch cake, practical skills you can use again at home, and the confidence to keep creating for the people you love.
What You’ll Learn
- How to level, fill, and stack your cake layers
- How to crumb coat and create smoother buttercream sides
- Simple piping and decorative finishing techniques
- How to approach cake decorating step-by-step without feeling overwhelmed
- Why each step matters, so you can recreate the process at home
What You’ll Take Home
At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home:
- Your own decorated 6-inch buttercream cake
- A cake box for safe transport
- The skills and confidence to practise again in your own kitchen
